The recalculation of final marks and the re-evaluation of answer scripts are the two options available if you would like your final results to be reviewed. This section is applicable to all undergraduate programmes and modules offered on the Stellenbosch campus. Students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences should direct enquiries in this regard to tygexams@sun.ac.za. On the Stellenbosch campus enquiries can be sent to stbexams@sun.ac.za.  The recalculation of a final mark is conducted by the relevant lecturer or department to verify and recalculate your final mark. The objective is to ensure accuracy in the allocation and summation of all assessment components. The re-evaluation of a final mark is a formal external review of your assessment/answer script to reassess its quality and confirm whether the awarded mark is justified and aligns with the established criteria.  Step 1: Work through answer scripts Students are strongly advised to work through their answer scripts before applying for the recalculation of final marks or the re-evaluation of assessment scripts. Refer to the Yearbook, Part 1 (General Rules) for the application procedures. Step 2: Recalculation of final marks Consult your faculty administrator directly to apply for a recalculation of your final mark. Refer to the relevant section in the Yearbook, Part 1 (General Rules) for more information. The costs for the recalculation of a final mark for 2026 is R120. Please send your proof of payment (Reference subject: recalculation request and the name of your faculty) to your faculty administrator with your recalculation request. Closing date: 13 February 2026 Step 3: Re-evaluation of assessment/answer scripts If you fail a module (even after a recalculation), but your final mark is at least 45% and you believe your marks for your A2, A2S2 or A3 assessments are still incorrect, you may apply for a re-evaluation of the respective answer script(s). 1.Cost: R880.00 per module (Please submit a separate application for each subject if you are applying for re-evaluation in more than one subject) 2. Closing date: October/December 2025 Assessments: Friday, 20 February 2026 3. The re-evaluation process will commence after the closing date and may take up to 2 to 3 weeks for an outcome. We kindly ask for your patience during this period.
